some things I’ve loved
👩🏼🏫 Why the Past 10 years in American Life have been Uniquely Stupid, by Jonathan Haidt. He wrote The Happiness Hypothesis, a psychology book I read a few years ago and enjoyed.
📚 I read Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris. It made me laugh out loud (really!) quite a few times and beyond two or three essays that I thought were dumb and unfunny, I really enjoyed it.
📺 I’m continuing to work my way through the Putin Files videos on Frontline. Obviously not optimistic but we can always use more info and perspective.
📖 I also read Atomic Habits by James Clear. I’m not a fan of self-help books, and thought this was fine. There are some good ideas (mostly borrowed from other people) throughout, but it is very repetitive and the classic case of a book that should have been a pamphlet.
🎧 I listened to Clear on a podcast a few months ago, and he summarized his entire book in two episodes. If you’re interested in what he has to say, listen to the podcast and save yourself the $25.
🕯 I visited the Urs Fischer exhibit at the Jumex Museum, it was beautiful and very exciting.

Yes, our relationship with our body is absolutely a journey and you are well on your way. I really appreciate you writing about this, it is scary, but in my mind the monsters are scarier when they stay hidden under the bed.
